We Still Need Chemical ReformHere we are almost a year after my trip to Washington DC with my daughter and other parents and children and nothing has changed. We still do not have any chemical reform and some of the legislation being discussed does very little to change the system.

What Makes A Hotel Eco-FriendlyI recently took a trip with my daughter to the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Florida, we needed a girls trip to some place warm after our long winter and we got to visit Grandma. When I was looking for hotels I had one criteria, a kiddie pool. I saw that the resort was touting itself as “green” not officially by any seal. It was trip on a whim so my research stopped there I felt it was better than nothing and I booked it.

Would You Ride A Bike In New York City?


For those of you who do not live in NYC you may not have heard about the controversy about Citi Bikes in NY. Everywhere I go I hear people talking about it. Most of the people are against it, who are talking about it anyway. I am surprised since it is such an amazing green initiative.

How does it work?

Get a membership for a year, a week, or a day and ride any of the 6,000 bikes located in Manhattan (midtown and lower Manhattan) and Brooklyn. If you are an annual member you will receive your own key that gives you access to all the bikes. Visitors or non-annual members get a code at the kiosk (at every station). [Read more…]

As you saw in my last post about snorkeling with plastic and fish I was in Belize over the weekend for my brother-in-laws wedding (told you I had weddings on the brain last week). Besides having an amazing time and staying in an eco-friendly resort I experienced a wonderful full weekend of real food. It was refreshing and something that I have to work on here America but is so effortless on the small island of San Pedro.

San Pedro is a small island that has no name brand resorts on the island just a few smaller resorts with a few rooms. The restaurant situation was the same the resort, small privately owned restaurant found around the island. Fresh food was all you could order everywhere. [Read more…]
